One of our former barter fellows, Rachel Ephraim, just got the short story she was working on while she was here, "Presents," published in The Barcelona Review. Well done, Rachel!

Rachel is a writing instructor for Writopia Lab, a non-profit organization that teaches creative writing workshops for kids ages 8-18. She is also founder and director of FreeBird Workshops, a grassroots writing workshop that meets at FreeBird Books and Goods Bookstore, an independent bookstore in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Her fiction has appeared in The Apple Valley Review and Word Riot, and her non-fiction has appeared in the Park Slope Reader and the New York Spirit. She is currently an M.F.A. Candidate at Columbia University.
